Col Kyle J. Pumroy serves as The Secretary of the Air Force's Deputy Inspector General for Space, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He is responsible to the Department of the Air Force Inspector General (DAF/TIG) to assess warfighting effectiveness, combat readiness, and assure the highest standards and compliance for the United States Space Force. In addition, he oversees fraud, waste, and abuse investigations and provides oversight of the complaints resolution program. Col Pumroy liaises with other federal agencies, DoD and Joint Staff IGs to support their inspections, DoD top management issues and Congressional audits.
After entering the Air Force in 1998 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Col Pumroy first served as launch officer for Minuteman III ICBM operations at FE Warren AFB, Wyoming. Following his ICBM operations tour, Col Pumroy served as ICBM Initial Qualification Training Instructor at Vandenberg AFB, California. Next, he led the Weapons and Tactics Flight at 4th Space Control Squadron, Holloman AFB, New Mexico. There he deployed twice, first to Al Udeid AB, Qatar, and then as the first Commander, 1st Expeditionary Space Control Squadron, Bagram AB Afghanistan. Following his Afghanistan tour, Col Pumroy served as Instructor and Operations Officer, 328th Weapons Squadron, Nellis AFB, Nevada. His command tours include Commander, 527th Space Aggressor Squadron, Schriever SFB, Colorado and first Commander, Space Delta 11, also at Schriever. Col Pumroy has served three previous Pentagon tours, including Joint Staff and Air Staff.
