IGS - Senior Official Inquiries

The Senior Official Inquiries directorate supports The Inspector General in developing policy and conducting inquiries and investigations of complaints and allegations made against senior Air Force officials. "Senior official" is defined as any Air Force active duty, retired, Reserve, or Air National Guard military officer in grades O-7 (brigadier general) select and above; current and former civilians above the grade of general schedule (GS) or general manager (GM)-15, or equivalent grades in other civilian pay schedules; current or former members of the Senior Executive Service (SES); and current and former Air Force civilian Presidential appointees. SAF/IGS also conducts other inquiries and investigations as directed by the Secretary, Chief of Staff, or The Inspector General.
